Summary

Some preemptive thanks to the wonderful people over at [Dreamwidth] for their [Diversity statement] and its subsequent “framework” (for lack of better terms) that I will use to describe the values and purpose of this project, as I find it beautiful, responsible, accurate, and useful.

Yes, in summary, this Project Jo is a combination of education, action, and communication, all built and maintained for the sake of protecting, and liberating the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals across the U.S. You can help its efforts despite any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, ability level, neurotype, religion, elder status, family structure, culture, subculture, political opinion, identity, and self-identification.

Naming

Project Jo is named after Jo Acker, who was an incredibly powerful and human woman, instrumental to the development of my adolescence. I say this despite her actions throughout her life not pertaining directly to myself, in fact, I suppose I would have been a complete stranger to her unless I started forming a friendship. She has, in (albeit limited) retrospect, become immeasurably profound in her impact on my bravery, the way I continue to lead and teach myself, and the way I continue to lead and teach others. Jo, if you’re out there, you have done so much just for being yourself, and I wish I could have told you how much I love you for that, as you would have for me; for an unending number of others, and as I’m sure you have done with yourself.

Fonts

This project uses Source Sans Pro for assets written by one of its authors. Questions brought up or proposed by others (e.g, through assignments from the author’s schooling,) are written in Georgia so as to differentiate it from the former.

Hyperlinks

When possible, documents for Project Jo may be hyperlinked between one another. The author is fully aware that nature of this project as it exists currently is one that is easily transferable to the ink and paper world, so she has done her best to display these hyperlinks as the actual title of documents, so that in can be found easily in the real world too.

Hyperlinks may be written {in braces} if accessible directly through the project, and [in brackets] if linking to content accessible outside the project. This will help others know where to look. Thanks to the geminiverse, and in particular, [XXIIVV] for giving me this idea.

Give and take

You can download a copy of the entire project’s content as an archive. This can then go on to be disseminated out to others as a website, a book, a broadcast, or any other form the promulgator wishes to use, so long as it follows the the licensing used in the project.
